Oh blog, how I've neglected you

If only you were less content demanding, like twitter.

On the topic of twitter... Are there any programmers out there that can help me out with a request?

I need a better Apple dashboard twitter client.

My ideal client would have the footprint, look and feel of twitterlex except with a dedicated read out of how many characters I have left.

From a functional standpoint, I'd want to be able to click peoples names and urls contained in a twitter and have Safari open them. I think twitterlex is supposed to do this, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Finally, I'd like only those twitters that are direct for me to pop up a growl notification.

Maybe I'll take some time this summer to learn javascript and try to tackle this myself.

Spring Break!

Spring term is now over. London is miserable with snow.

Luckily, I'm heading to Egypt for the next week and a half.

Later y'all!

Watch this space

Thanks to Anonymous for the prompt to post. There are about half a dozen half started and drafts sitting in my blog publisher right now, dating all the way back from November.

I'll post this for now (must get myself sorted), but there will be more soon.

Has anyone else from LBS noticed...

That in career central Milkround presentations are listed as being in the "dinning room".

I think it means to say procrastination, in actuality

Financial accounting exam this Saturday, 8-ball tells me more studying in my future.

As a random link, I think it's interesting that Panama is making Mandarin compulsory in all schools.

Mac Help, Please?

I accidentally deleted my pictures folder from my Mac the other day. I've made peace with it, though I've lost a whole bunch of my old work. Hopefully my Toshiba still functions well enough to get those files back.

Regardless, I need some Mac help - Anyone out there know how to restore my default picture icon to my pictures folder? I've found the .icns file, but don't know how to do anything beyond that.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Rah Rah Jetlag

Well, here I am in London.

It's 5:30 in the morning. I've had a grand total of two hours of sleep tonight and it doesn't look like I'll be getting back to the delightful world of REM land any time soon. Jetlag after only being here for two days is acceptable, I guess. Personally I believe that my body hates me for some reason. Maybe it's the abuse I put it through ever since landing here.

The flight over was uneventful. A minor annoyance took the form of a baby two rows ahead of me that enjoyed wailing intermittently. After landing, I dropped off my things at London House at Goodenough College and ran off to get my HSBC account set up. The day was capped off with too much drinking at the Windsor Castle for the Flat Hunters' Pub Crawl kickoff. Pictures ici.

Next time - flathunting...

But First - Finish Packing

Guess this is it.

This time tomorrow, I should be getting ready to drink my face off at the Flat Hunters' Pub Crawl.

Good News and Bad News

Good news as the project is on the verge of being sold, all that's left is the home inspection. Congratulations to Moyse and Borough!

Unfortunately though, the closing date is at the end of this month, which means that the Post Reno Party has officially been cancelled. Too bad. Some other time Toronto.

Stuff for Sale

A few more steps have been taken to gear up for the move out of here. I took last Monday off to ship most of the crap accumulated over the past 4 years in Toronto back to Edmonton. I'm always amazed by how many things one actually has – it took me around 8 boxes. Most everything left over here should be able to fit into two suitcases.

There are a few things that I'd like to get rid of before I go, including the table that has served us so well ever since the days of the luxury condo.

If you're looking for furniture and you're in Toronto, please have a look at my stuff for sale and let me know if anything interests you.

iCal Event Durations

Any Apple experts out there know if there's any way to set durations of events in iCal instead of just specifying start and end times? Maybe using a plug in or an add-on or the like?

If I have a meeting that starts at 10:24am and it's going to last for 2 hours and 47 minutes, I'd prefer not to have to calculate the end time in my head before it can be entered in the calendar.

Thanks in advance for any responses.
